Valletta to face Sirens in first league game

Champions Hamrun Spartans will be facing Balzan on match-day 1 of the BOV Premier League 2023/24 as the draws were held by Bank of Valletta Chief Operations Officer Ernest Agius and former Malta international midfielder Raymond Vella in the presence of Malta FA Director Football Operations Stephen Azzopardi.
Fourteen teams will be taking part once again in the league which will be played on two rounds and which will run between September 16 and May 4.
The venues will be the National Stadium, the Tony Bezzina Stadium and the Centenary Stadium.
Four teams will be relegated to the Challenge League.
In the other matches on match-day 1, Birkirkara take on newly-promoted Sliema Wanderers, Santa Lucia face Floriana, Valletta take on Sirens, Gzira United face Hibernians, Mosta take on Gudja United and Marsaxlokk meet the other newly-promoted side Naxxar Lions.
