Izibet FA Trophy draws 2022/2023

The draw for the Izibet FA Trophy 2022/23 Round of 32 and Round of 16 were held on Wednesday at the Centenary Hall.
Holders Floriana were drawn with Santa Lucia in the only clash between two Premier League clubs with eight of them facing Challenge League clubs.
In fact, apart from the fourteen Premier League clubs, there were eleven teams from the Challenge League, two from the Amateur League and five Gozitan First Division teams in the draw.
Six teams were seeded – Floriana, Hibernians, Hamrun Spartans, Gzira United, Birkirkara and Gudja United.
Floriana were drawn with another Premier League side Santa Lucia while Gzira, Gudja and Hibernians were drawn with Challenge League sides – Gzira United were drawn with Sliema Wanderers, Gudja United were paired with Naxxar Lions while Hibernians were drawn with Zurrieq. Birkirkara and Hamrun were drawn with Gozitan sides Nadur Youngsters and Ghajnsielem respectively.
Another five Premier clubs were drawn with Challenge League teams – Marsaxlokk were drawn with Zejtun Corinthians, Balzan with Tarxien Rainbows, Mosta with Melita, Zebbug Rangers with Swieqi United and Sirens with Mqabba.
On the other hand, Valletta were paired with Amateur League side Zabbar St. Patrick while Pieta’ Hotspurs were drawn with Gozitan side Xewkija Tigers
In the remaining two matches, Mtarfa were drawn with Gozitan side Qala Saints while San Gwann were paired with Amateur League side Mgarr United in the other two matches.
Round of 32 matches are scheduled between January 13 and 16.

Round of 16 matches will be played on February 7, 8 and 9. The quarter-finals are scheduled for February 24-26, the semi-finals for April 25-26 and the final for April 30.
